A charming oil on canvas landscape depicting a scene of woodland opening out to sheep grazing while the sunsets. The work is by Joel Owen who painted at the very early part of the twentieth century, he was purely a commercial artist and did not exhibit, but he was hugely prolific and popular. The painting is signed and dated 1919 and is mounted in the original quite simple gilt frame, there seems to be a title on the reverse but is illegible.
