A fine marine oil on canvas by specialist marine artist Millson Hunt. The dramatic scene shows a ship wrecked on the rocks just as the sun is going down. The work is titled on the stretcher ‘Wreck drifting on a rocky shore’ The work is signed on the bottom right. There is relatively little known about Millson Hunt he worked during the period 1875-1900 and seems to have been based in Cornwall, his works are highly desirable. The painting is mounted in a period gilt frame and the whole is in excellent condition.
