A very large and fine woolwork of a four masted ship. The woolwork is very finely done and in great detail, the ship is shown under full sail at sea. The woolwork is in excellent condition with no damage apparant at all, the only issue is that the blue colour has faded, this is often the case with the blue in needleworks as the dye didn’t hold, the colours of everything are perfect. The ship is mounted in the original maple frame with the original gilt slip and is untouched at the back. This is a lovely example of a sailor woolwork and of a very large size and in great untouched condition.
