An oval portrait housed in a rectangular period frame, as was often the style of that period

size 30 ins x 25 ins (76 cms x 64 cms), contained in a period carved giltwood frame
with overall size 36 ins x 31 ins (92 cm x 79 cms).
The condition is very good there is some minor crackular and some restoration/overpainting
evident under uv light.
Michael Dahl (1659–1743)
A Swedish portrait painter who lived and worked in England most of his career.
He painted portraits of many aristocrats and some members of royal families.
His paintings are on show in many museums and national trust houses.
