A fine and early oil on canvas landscape. The scene depicted is of a mother and child walking toward a small town nestled in a hilly landscape.The painting is unsigned which isn’t unusual for this type of painting, and it is by a capable hand. The painting is mounted in a period naive gilded wood frame, probably the original. The painting has had a few small holes professionally repaired and is in very good condition. The whole has a great Georgian provincial country house look about it and is ready to hang. C.1810.
