Description

This is a stunning 19th Century Chinese painting in a deep rosewood frame with gilt slip, which in itself is a thing of beauty. The painting is very skilfully executed in water based gouache colours on pith paper and depicts a beautiful butterfly with deep hues of gold, cobalt blue and fuchsia. It has excellent depth of colour and is in excellent condition. The picture measures 30cm by 26cm overall, including the frame.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
