Signed and dated 1871. Inscribed on original label on the reverse with title, artist's name and address and exhibition number 2.

Oil on canvas. Framed.

Size: 18"x 14". Framed size: 24 1/2"x 20 1/2".

In very good ready to hang condition. Free UK delivery.

A wonderful and charming Victorian genre painting.

James William Cole was a London painter of domestic subjects (such as this one) and animals.

He exhibited 63 works at The Royal Academy, Birmingham Institute, The Royal Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street, New Watercolour Society, and at The International Exhibition of 1862.
