A charming slightly naive English school oil on canvas portrait of a young lady. The portrait shows the lady looking to the left in typically sombre dress highlighted with a lace collar and gilt brooch. The whole is typical of it''s type but much more than most has a beauty and charm about it. The painting is mounted in a period Italian carved gilt wood frame. The painting has a minor repair and the frame similarly has a minor repair. The whole has a great provincial country house look about it.
