Stunning Nude Oil by Florence Pash

A wonderful little gem of a painting by interesting artist Florence Pash. The painting in oils on baord shows a beautiful young lady having just got out of the bath drying herself. The quality of the work is superb both on the flesh and figure and the fabrics and bright colours. The painting is mounted in the original gilt frame and bares on the reverse a label from the artist as to who it should be passed on to. The work is signed by Florence Pash who was a prolific artist though her works seldom come on the market. She exhibited widely from 1886-1924 including a remarkable 12 times at the Royal Academy amoung all other major exhibitions. She had many artist friends and is now cheifly remember for implicating the artist Walter Sickert in the Jack the Ripper murders.

The painting is in excellent condition and the frame is untouched with some wear. I think this is a painting kept by the artist and would certainly be one of her exhibited works and a very unsual subject. C.1900.
