Artist: Wilfred Bosworth Jenkins. (1857-1936).

Title: "Scarborough in moonlight". Lighthouse and harbour in the distance. The Grand Hotel on the left.

Signed. circa 1900.

Oil on board.

Size: 8"x 12". Framed size: 12 1/2"x 17 1/2".

In very good ready to hang condition. Free UK delivery.

Wilfred Bosworth Jenkins. (1857 Stow on the Wold-1936 Leeds).

Wilfred Jenkins studied under John Atkinson Grimshaw and his influence is very evident in Jenkins moonlight paintings. Another student of Grimshaw's, Walter Linsley Meegan was a contemporary of Jenkins. These artists were based in Leeds and Scarborough, but also painted all around the United Kingdom. Their work is very popular.
