ANONYMOUS: a charming and very well painted OIL ON CANVAS PORTRAIT of a pretty young lady.

Of quite large size, and within its original ornate gilded frame, this George III period portrait dates from the first few years of the 19th century judging by the dress of the sitter. She wears a white high-bodiced dress and a coral necklace, whilst her hair is fashioned in the style of the period written about so vividly in the five novels about the landed British gentry, by Jane Austen.

Good condition; measurements including the frame: 30ins x 24ins (76 x 61cms)
