A very nice oil on canvas portrait dating to the Regency period. The Gentleman is dressed in a dark jacket and has a beautiful silk waistcoat and cravat. The portrait is typical English school of the period and like most is not signed. The painting has been professionally cleaned and has an old lining. The portrait is still in the original gilt frame which is typical of the early Regency quite plain with decorative corners. The frame is in nice original condition with some repairs to the corners. C.1810.
