Fine Stick Barometer by Dolland of London

Description

A particularly fine quality mid-Victorian carved honey-coloured oak STICK BAROMETER by the famous makers DOLLAND of LONDON.

The case is lovely, with its carved pediment; carved ears to the top of the trunk and carved cistern cover. The register plates are engraved and silvered; there is a long thermometer to the trunk, also with engraved and silvered plate and both original tortoiseshell keys have survived! In perfect working order and highly recommended.

*The Dolland family were a well-known and much admired firm of London barometer makers. This example is by George Dolland (1774-1856).
