Large French Impressionist Oil Room Scene

A large and highly decorative oil on canvas scene depicting a fine French interior looking out to a sunlit garden. The painting is typical of French impressionist work with the focus being all on light and shade and how to create this through oil, so we have the dark interior reacting to the light from outside. The painting has been worked on a fine quality french canvas by Blanchet of Paris, which is indicative of a professional level artist, however the work does not appear to be signed. The painting is technically highly skilled and it must have been done by a Paris based commercial artist but who remains a mystery. The painting has been professionally cleaned and a small hole repaired. The work has been moounted in a superb quality English Victorian period gilt frame. The frame is huge and very heavy and should be taken in to condsideration when thinking about purchasing.The frame has had some repairs over the years but remains largely in original condition. The painting and the frame work wonderfully together and gives it at once a great country house look, or that of a major art gallery.
