A fine oil on canvas depicting a jug of Iceland poppies. The painting dates to the Art Deco period and is worked in exceptionally thick impasto paint in bold vibrant colours. The painting is signed and by: Mary E Oddie who exhibited in the 1930''s at amongst other places the Royal Institute of oil painters, and lived in Uckfield, Sussex. The painting is one of her exhibited works as it retains the label on the reverse. The work is mounted in the original and heavy gilt frame and the whole makes a bold splash of colour. The work and the frame are in excellent condition. C.1935.
