Description

Top quality Victorian Scottish pocket barometer by E. LENNIE of EDINBURGH in original case. This is an instrument of the highest quality made by one of the best Scottish instrument makers of the time. It has been fully serviced recently and is in perfect working order. The case retains all its original lacquer. The dial is perfect.

It comes with its original green felt lined case although the lid is detached from the base as the hinge has gone.

Mrs ELIZA LENNIE carried on the business her husband had started in 1840 upon his death in 1854. They operated first from South Bridge and then from 14 Leith Street Edinburgh. This barometer is marked with Eliza's earliest mark.
