A very unsual pair of oil landscapes in miniature dating to the late Georgian period. The paintings are of typical picturesque riverine landscapes with figures in the forefront. One painting is signed in monogram W.C. and dated 1805, both are worked on similar wooden boards and are mounted in what appears to be the original gilt frames. I have never seen a pair of miniatures such as these they are very interesting and decorative.
