A lovely oil on board of crocuses. The painting shows wonderfully these spring flowers as they grow and fall in clumps. The painting is in the original gilt frame and slip and the whole has a great country house look. The painting is not signed but there is an exhibition label on the reverse that says ''S.M.Thomas'' and therefore this is most likely the artist. The painting is in great condition and the frame is all original with some slight repair. C.1880.
