Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
Painted with the artist's usual bright style, it is signed (lower left) and indistinctively dated (old accreditation on the back says 1849 but on closer examination, 1839 looks more likely?). It measures: 25.5ins x 21ins including the frame. (64.5 x 53cms)

Alfred Vickers (1786-1868) was a self-taught landscape painter who exhibited 125 works at the Royal Academy and elsewhere. He often painted views with river scenes using a range of pale greens which was distinctive.
