A wonderful victorian oil on canvas (laid down on board)Dutch golden age still life. The painting is a copy of the famuous work by Jan Davidsz de Heem C.1653 entitled: ''Still life with ham, lobster and fruit''. The painting is exceptionally detailed and bright and captures the great extravagant feel of the original. The work is not signed as is often the case with copiest work and has been laid down on a board in the past. The painting is in excellent condition. The work is mounted in a superb quality victorian frame with bold deep moulding of fruit, the frame is very heavy and therefore needs a solid place to hang. The whole is a great decorative artwork giving the look of a great Dutch piece for a fraction of the cost. C.1890.
