A Victorian oil on canvas laid down on board, depicting the famous scene of the woodsman and his dog out in the snow. The painting has a huge amount of naive charm particularly the dog. The work is mounted in a heavy period gilt frame which has been rubbed back to the wood in places and gives the whole a great faded country house look. The whole is in excellent condition.
