A fantastic seascape by this well known marine artist. oil on canvas signed and dated ''61, Housed in
what appears to be the original frame the reverse bearing label for the Carroll galleries titled ''off Calais''.
The size overall being 37 x 23 inches approx. (94 x 58cm) whilst the painting is 17.5 x 31 inches approx.
(44cm x 80cm)
Condition :Relined some signs of over paint under UV, minor frame losses.

Arthur joseph meadows was from a family of marine artists ,he was considered to be the best of his family,
Known for his harbours and coastal scenes he painted in the uk France and Holland.
He exhibited mainly at Suffolk Street as well as at The Royal Academy and The British Institute
Meadows’ paintings can be found in many museums and art galleries including The National Maritime Museum.
