A stunning large Regency period oil on canvas portrait of a lady. The lady is sitting looking directly out of the painting with an arresting gaze, she is dressed in mauve with a wonderful lace bonnet. The painting is mounted in the original bur elm frame of good deep size with a beautiful faded original patina. The painting is in good condition with a slight craqueleure in places and the whole has a great country house look. C.1830.
