Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The moulded cornice sits above a shaped tapering plate rack which could indicate that this piece originates from North Wales, it also has a rare spoon rack and solid oak backboards. The lower section has a beautifully figured top above three drawers with raised fielded centres and later brass swan neck handles with two open lower sections making it the ideal storage area for all those pots and pans. This wonderful dresser stands on shaped bracket feet and is full of the charm and character that you would expect to find in a true antique, it also splits into two sections for easy removal. The oak has aged to a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
