A superb large, Victorian period, carved oak case Barometer by M.Pillischer of London. The case is carved from solid oak and is in the form of a baroque cartouche embellished with emblems of plenty, including nesting birds, grapes, a wheat sheaf and basket of fruit. The whole is of a very high quality carving and while Black forest in type is most likely English made. The Barometer is a high quality, aneroid type with a temperature gauge also. The whole is in working order and in good condition, the case is of a dark colour and has a few minor losses to extremities of the the carving. C.1890
