Good Large German Framed Porcelain Plaque

Description

A gorgeous 19th century PORCELAIN PLAQUE which depicts a raven-haired Judith as a young maiden, holding a sword in her left hand and the head of Holofernes in her right.

She wears a white smock and gold belt across her naked shoulders leading to a gold brocade tunic. The reverse of this fine plaque is inscribed: "C.v.Braunmuhl, Munchen (Munich) 1869". Including the frame it measures 17ins high 14.75ins wide (43.2 x 37.5cms) c.1869
