After starting the pharmacist studies, he devotes himself to his true passion, painting. Member of the Royal Cercle Artistic and literary Charleroi, the Belgian Society of Painters of the Sea and the association "Artists of Hainaut" Albert Mascaux got Hainaut Award in 1946 and his paintings have made the many happiness collectors who are in several museums in Belgium and abroad: Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Tournai, Charleroi, La Louviere and Namur. His works are also in the collections of the Belgian State and the Province of Hainaut.

Albert Mascaux IMPRESSIONNISTE relates to the school with a concern for synthesis very strong in his paintings. He painted works full delicacy, bucolic poetry. François Dubois bequeathed the works of Albert Mascaux he possessed one or more museums in Hainaut. Castle Trazegnies was considered heir but the minimum storage conditions were not met, and it is the province of Hainaut which temporarily received the paintings. Today, after the East Wing of the restoration and the creation of new facilities, guarantees of security and conservation are met. Works so well back to the castle, in the home town of Albert Mascaux where the public can admire paintings of the Black Country and the Ardennes which was well painted.
