Description

Artist: Fred Sherwood. (exhibited 1886-1900.)

Title:

"Summer landscape with ducks by a marshy river with a village beyond".Probably in Nottinghamshire.

Oil on canvas. Picture size: 24"x 36".

Framed size: 35 1/4"x 47 1/4".

Signed. Indistinctly inscribed on the stretcher verso.(with the location?).

Date: circa 1890.

Price: £1250. Including Delivery.

In good ready to hang condition.

In a very good period Watts gilt gold leaf frame.

We have also photographed the painting in a victorian style gold swept frame,which also suits it very much,and also reduces the overall size slightly. In this frame the price is reduced to: £1050.

A good tranquil probably Nottinghamshire summer landscape.

Fred Sherwood lived in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and exhibited 18 times at The Nottingham Museum and Art Gallery.
