Artist: Albert Proctor. ARCamA. (Fl. 1884-1905).

Title: "Grange Village, Borrowdale". Lake District.

Very large watercolour. 36"x 60". Framed: 44"x 68".

Signed. Circa 1890.

In good ready to hang condition.

Price: £1,950. Free UK delivery.

A wonderful and very rare example of Albert Proctor's work. I know of only two other large watercolours by Albert Proctor, and this is the largest. It would have been a special commission for a patron or exhibition, and probably both. Artists often asked if they could exhibit a commissioned picture to show off their skills.

Albert Proctor was a Liverpool painter of views in the local area and of views in the Lake District and North Wales. He exhibited at The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, The Royal Academy, London, and The Royal Cambrian Academy.
