Description

A good Joseph Hughes Clayton (British exh.1891-1929) watercolour seascape with sailing dinghy, seagulls and ships on the horizon.

The sea has been exquisitely painted, capturing the light swell perfectly. The colours the sea and sky are lovely, warm and soft.

Joseph Hughes Clayton (exh 1891 - 1929) was a landscape and coastal artist who painted in both watercolour and oil. His works are often painted with a 'chocolate box' scene. Many of his works depict scenes in North Wales and the North West of England. He exhibited prolifically at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.

Beautifully reframed and mounted.
