A good quality oil on canvas depicting a flight of grouse over the moor at sunset. The painting is a wonderful landscape with the purple of the heather contrasting with the green. The painting is signed with monogram which I have been unable to ascribe to an artist. The painting is mounted in the original superb quality gilt frame. The painting has been cleaned and the frame ha had some repair, but the overall look is that the painting has been hung in a house and never moved. C.1880.
