This is a very charming oil on board painting by E S Greig. It shows a young girl in a period cottage interior with ducks and ducklings in the foreground. The painting is behind glass in what is probably it's original cushion gilt frame and it is signed and dated 1864. It is a compact desirable size measuring 43cm by 38cm.

E.S. Greig was a British artist active in the late 19th Century. He painted landscapes and figurative paintings whilst living in Bristol. He exhibited both at the Royal Academy and the British Institute.
