ABOUT THE ARTIST.
This is a quote from Jeremy Wood's book Hidden Talents. 'Frank Hider was a painter in oil and sometimes watercolour of coastal scenes and rural landscapes. This artist was very prolific and his work is frequently seen on the market - the beach scenes in oil being the most common. The oils were often inscribed with the title and location on the reverse. Frank Hider's style and colour are similar to S. Y. Johnson but he usually painted with a broader technique. There are also some similar oils signed George Hider and he may have been related. Frank Hider lived at Forest Gate, Essex for a number of years and died on the 29th November, 1933.
