Lester Sutcliffe "Sheep Grazing by the Coast" Watercolour

1900 - 1920
Description

Lester Sutcliffe was born in Leeds, Yorkshire in 1850. He studied art in Birmingham and became a stage painter before travelling to France and Italy. He later settled in Whitby near where this picture would have been painted. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Liverpool and the Royal Cambrian Academy.

This atmospheric misty coastal scene shows a landscape by the Yorkshire coast with sheep grazing. It is signed lower right and measures 15" x 22". It is newly mounted into a fine antique watercolour frame giving an overall size of 24" x 30".
