Oil of Foxhounds by Wright Barker

A superb oil on canvas foxhounds with pup in kennels. The painting is of the highest quality as would be expected of this top level animal painter. The painting is in good untouched condition with the original frame which has been over-painted at some point. Wright Barker was a specialist painter of hunting subjects and exhibited from 1891-1935 mainly at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists. Barker lived near Newark in Nottinghamshire and is most associated with the area Known as the Dukeries, working for the families of the Stately homes in that area. He is a highly desirable artist and his works can fetch into the tens of thousands.
