An oil on canvas depicting Lyminster Church which is a very early Saxon building in West Sussex. The painting is painted by Ralph Gordon Ellis and signed and dated 1930. The painting remains in it''s original frame and bears an exhibition label on the reverse. The whole is in excellent condition and the painting has been professionally cleaned. Ralph Gordon Ellis (1885-1963) is an interesting artist who worked as a pub sign painter although he had studied at the Slade School. There is a permanent exhibition at Arundel museum on his life and works.
