Her early art training took place in Canada and England, where she studied with the late Hayward Veal, the Australian impressionist painter.
Her work has been shown in London exhibitions including the Royal Society of Marine Painters and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and is represented in private collections in Britain, Canada, and the United States.
Charlotte Hoyt-Desmond died in August of 2006.
