Edward_Arden{/gallery} For sale this very good Water colour painting of a scene in the Lake District by noted artist Edward Arden, (Tucker) 1847 -1910. The fully signed painting measuring 53.5cm by 36cm for the visable water colour and with the frame 73.5cm by 57.2cm. Good condition with no foxing and good strong colours and no restoration.
EDWARD TUCKER Jr., who was born in Bristol in 1847, was a landscape and coastal painter in watercolour, who was the son of the well known watercolour artist Edward Tucker Sr. (c.1925-1909). He lived in Bristol, London, Brighton, Ambleside, ending up in Windermere. He was the brother of Arthur T. RBA 1864-1929, Frederick T. c. 1855-c.1935, Alfred R. T. 1849-1914 and Hubert Coutts T. RI, who died in 1921. All five of the brothers being listed artists. He used the pseudonym Edward Arden to avoid confusion with his father. He died in 1910, the year after his father.
