Description

This is an excellent hand-coloured Aquatint etching depicting cavalrymen of the 3rd The Prince of Wales's Dragoon Guards by James Henry Lynch, published in Spooner's Costumes of the British Army, 1840-44. The etching is in the manner of Michael Angelo Hayes (1820-1877), a prolific painter of horses and military personnel and a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy.

The aquatint is in good condition, although there are some minor watermarks to the top. It measures 50cm by 40cm.
