William Greaves "The Old Cart" Oil Painting

Description

William Greaves (1852-1938) was born in Leeds, Yorkshire. He studied at Sheffield College of Art and painted mostly oil paintings of the Yorkshire and Sherwood Forest areas. He exhibited widely including works at the Royal Academy, Liverpool, Manchester and The Royal Institute of Oil Painters.

"The Old Cart" is a good sized oil painting on canvas measuring 24"x 36". It is signed lower right and is dated 1883 making this a fine early example of the artist's work. It is now framed in a superb period gilt frame giving an overall size of 37"x 49".
