Haymaking Oil Painting by P.l.lara

A fine oil on canvas by the artist Percy Leslie Lara, depicting haymaking on a summers day. The painting is in excellent condition, and painted plein air, giving it a freshness and liveliness of colour. The work is mounted in a fine quality Victorian period gilt frame.

Percy Leslie Lara was born 1870, and worked as a landscape artist in oil and watercolour. Born on the 1st May in Worcester he was the son of the artist W. P. Lara. As well as exhibiting at the RI and ROI he also exhibited in the provinces and at the Paris Salon. He was elected as a member of New Society of Artists in 1924. His address is recorded as 44 Edith Road, South Kensington, London.

The work is in excellent condition and signed 'P.L.Lara' the whole frame and painting are in excellent original condition. C.1920.
