Philip Naviasky "Portrait of a Lady" Oil on Canvas

Description

The son of Polish immigrants, Philip Naviasky

(1894-1983) won a scholarship to the Leeds School of Fine Art in 1907 at the age of just thirteen, before being accepted into the Royal Academy Schools five years later, the youngest ever student. After winning a Royal Exhibition Award Naviasky went on to study at the Royal College of Art, before taking up a post as an art teacher at the Leeds College of Art. He exhibited widely both in this country and abroad.

This attractive picture is a lovely example of the artist's work. It measures 20" x 16" and is framed in a suitable old gilt frame.
