A fine pair of Victorian oil on canvas still life paintings. The paintings are both of autumnal fruits with foliage, and are beautifully painted. The paintings are both signed on the reverse of the canvas: ''Nellie Robertson, Nov. 1893'' Nellie Robertson is most probably a Scottish artist called Helen H Robertson, who lived in Glasgow and exhibited at The Glasgow Institute of Fine Art and the Fine Art Society in the early 1890''s. The paintings are both in the original gilt frames, which have had some restoration and regilding over the years and have an excellent old country house look.
