A fine and charming oil on canvas depicting a group of classical maidens looking out to sea at sunset. The painting is beautifully worked in complimentary colours and has sinuous forms typical of the art nouveau period. The painting is typically French and is signed ''Nory'' but I have been unable to identify the artist. The painting is mounted in a period gilt frame with silver slip. The painting has had some slight restoration of pin holes and the canvas had sagged and has been strip lined at the edges. The framing does show some edge of the canvas. The whole is in good condition and ready to hang. C.1900.
