Artist: Sidney Grant Rowe (1861-1928) R.B.A., R.O.I

Title: 'Gathering Firewood' (Possibly Sherwood Forest)

Medium: Oil on canvas.

Size: 20" x 30" unframed (in inches)

31" x 41" framed (in inches).

Signed & Dated 1881.

In it's original very fine quality watts frame.

Both the painting and frame are in excellent condition, and ready to hang.

A very good example of the artist's early work, painted when he was 20 years old.

Rowe studied at St. Martin's School of Art and was the son of the lyric author J. Rowe. Lived in London and Warlingham, and exhibited at most of the major galleries including Birmingham, Liverpool, Royal Academy (11 times), Royal Society of British Artists (109 times), R.E, Royal Institute (24 times) and Royal Institute of Oil Painters (91 times).
