Irish Maritime Oil on Board

Description

Lovely, breezily painted little late 19th.c. maritime scene of a boat stood in shallow water whilst four men on shore work with ropes to hold her prow-on to the land. In oil on board with a small illegible signature or annotation in the lower right corner together with the date June 21.97. A little research may reveal the exact subject as the reverse carries an old label attached which reads ‘(illegible) Ashore, Port Rush. Ireland June 21st 1897'.
