Lester Sutcliffe "The Sands O'dee" Watercolour

Description

Lester Sutcliffe was born in Leeds, Yorkshire in 1850. He studied art in Birmingham and became a stage painter before travelling to France and Italy. He later settled in Whitby and exhibited his pictures at the Royal Academy, Liverpool and the Royal Cambrian Academy.

This lovely atmospheric coastal scene is signed lower left and inscribed with title lower right. The picture measures 9"x 14" and is framed in a good quality modern frame giving an overall size of about 17"x 22".
