A charming oil on canvas winter scene depicting a figure walking down a country lane at sunset. The work is signed J Edwards, who was John Edwards a Nottingham artist who exhibited a large amount of works in Nottingham at the end of the Victorian period, he was well known for his winter scenes, and always painted scenes in the Nottingham area. The work is mounted in the original frame which has been regilded at some point and gilded over some lost decoration. The whole is in good condition. C.1890
