Frank Paton "Terrier Dogs" Pair of Old Prints

Description

Frank Paton (1856-1909) was a figure and animal painter and illustrator who lived in London, Kent and Brentwood in Essex. He exhibited pictures at the Royal Academy, Liverpool and the Fine Art Society.

"ROUGH AND READY" and "NOT AT HOME" are original etchings by Paton, each signed in pencil by the artist. They were published in 1888 by E.E.Leggatt, 62, Cheapside, E.C.. Each measures 9"x 11" and they are in their original oak frames with gilt slips giving an overall size of 11"x 13". Each has a main image of a group of working terriers around which are charming etched vignettes showing other related sporting and animal activities.
