Frederick William Booty "Whitby" Group of Five Watercolours

Description

Frederick William Booty lived between 1840 and 1924.He was brought up in Scarborough on the East Coast of Yorkshire and taught art at the Girls' High School in Hull. Much of his work shows views around his home area, often on a large scale.

This series of five fine watercolours showing views around Whitby each measure about 6"x 10" and are mounted together into one frame giving a total frame size of 20"x 26". The good original frame is undisturbed at the back and has a label for "Leggatt Brothers, 62, Cheapside and 77, Cornhill, E.C." The central watercolour is signed and dated 1894. This is the finest group of watercolours we have seen by this artist, beautifully presented in a lovely original frame.
